We rebuilt everything
DramaLlama v2 isn't an update. It's a ground-up rebuild. The beta launched in September 2024, and we spent months watching how fans actually used it. Some things worked. A lot didn't. So we tore it down and started over.
Herds
Herds are fan-run spaces inside DramaLlama. Create one around a specific drama, a genre, an actor, whatever connects your group. You pick the name, set the tone, decide what flies and what doesn't.
If you've bounced between Discord servers that got too big and subreddits that got too quiet, Herds are the middle ground. Your posts show up in the order people post them. Nobody's algorithm is deciding what you see.
There's already a Bad Buddy Herd. One for Thai BL fans who also watch K-Drama. One for people who exclusively watch Chinese bromance adaptations and can spot the censored romance from a mile away.
Discovery
Most platforms lump BL into a single tag, maybe two. DramaLlama breaks it down by country, subgenre, and mood. Looking for a lighthearted Thai campus romance? That's a specific category here. Want something darker, like KinnPorsche or Not Me? Different lane entirely.
The feed learns from what you follow and what Herds you're in. It gets better the more you use it, which sounds like a marketing line, but it's how the recommendation system actually works.
Release calendar
You know that feeling when you find out an episode dropped two days ago because someone spoiled it in a random tweet? The release calendar tracks premieres, new episodes, and specials across every genre on DramaLlama. Filter by country, genre, or streaming platform. Set reminders for the stuff you're actually following.
What didn't change
We're still free. Still no ads. Still built by someone who watches the same shows you do. That part was never going to change.
What's coming
We're working on creator tools and community events. Some other things too, but we're not ready to talk about those yet. If you have ideas for what DramaLlama should do next, there's a Herd for feature requests. People use it.
